Suite 410 Review
September 9, 2009 0 Comments
This place is suite! Like only the best of scavenger hunts, here
is THE Seattle bar to look for. If you have been to this place
already, you know what we're talking about. If you haven't been,
it's about damn time you went. Suite 410 is brought to you every
night by Max Borthwick and Damon and Kelly Maletta. They never
publicly advertise because business is achieved through
word-of-mouth, and business is BOOMING.
Relax, sit back, roll solo, roll deep, rage or read a book. Treat
this suite as that sexy date spot. Kick back on the couches and use
this as the antidote for office work. Better yet, use it for all of
the above. Enter the doors of Suite 410 and you'll find gracious
ceilings giving way to something more. Look around and you'll
notice a sensible, contemporary style, minimal and to the point. A
flat screen hangs front and center and late night mood lighting is
easy on the eyes. You can call ahead to reserve the cushy couches,
but if you don't, they're certainly worth the wait. During the
week, you'll hear a mix of musical infusions. On the weekends, DJ
Sheriff gets the body movin' to down-tempo beats and grooves. Boys
and girls no hats please, guys leave the tank tops to the
gals.
DList met with the battle ax of bartenders, Susanna
King, whose biceps are as definitive as the very drinks she
creates. She started her career making the classics and she's now
morphed many to call her own. Suite 410 promises to provide you
with the perfect creative cocktail concoctions, some classic
sippers, wine, sake and/or beer. The staff utilizes its
fresh-ingredient freedom and on the spot squeezed juices are a
staple. Happy hour offers bites to eat and drink specials run late
from 4 to 8 p.m., no rush to squeak it in. Belvedere martinis and
Belvedere Red Bulls are $6. Most mixed drinks, several signatures
and even wine by the glass are $5. At that price, these drinks
taste even better.
"Everyone who works here has a huge personal investment in both the
owners and the place," King said. "It shows in the drinks and the
vibe." We say, you can be an investor too, have another drink and
solidify Suite 410's existence. DList is doing our part. Here's
what we ordered and what we recommend.

Although some cocktails are made up of just two
ingredients, the vast majority are comprised of three or more. The
three parts of a cocktail are usually: 1) a base, usually a spirit,
2) a sweetening, which may be a syrup, sugar or liqueur, and 3) a
souring, often fresh fruit juice, bitters or other ingredients.
Here is Suite 410's take on this theory.
