Big Picture - Seattle

by Kayla on September 6, 2011 0 Comments

The Big Picture Seattle is the perfect spot to cozy up for a good movie and cocktail. Located underneath El Gaucho on 1st Ave, the Big picture was created to give going to the theater a ‘little classier’ feel and overall better experience with a custom bar, 1920’s furnishings and a very exclusive atmosphere. Drinks are served during the show and fresh white cheddar popcorn available for just $5. Check out what is playing tonight, $11 per ticket. Show times start at 6 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. during the week, more show times available on the weekends. Now Playing – Crazy Stupid Love

Tavern Law - Needle & Thread

by Kayla on August 22, 2011 0 Comments

Tavern Law , one of Seattle Met’s Top 10 Best Bars in Seattle for 2011. Why we are not surprised? Tavern Law could easily be one of the most sought out bars in Capital Hill and with a secret upstairs, 'speakeasy' it's also tough to drop in for a drink.

"Tavern Law attracts a comely crowd that sips expertly wrought flips, slings, sours, and punches while snacking on small plates (foie gras, fried oysters) rich enough to hold up against those potent pre-Prohibition potables. But the real magic is upstairs at Needle and Thread, the bar’s second-level spirits sanctuary. Lined with artisan bottles and sepia-toned nudie photos, this 30-seat “speakeasy” benefits from the undivided attention of one silk-vested, mustachioed barman who crafts each drink to order." One of the few speakeasy bars in Seattle, Tavern Law is known for its savvy and cocktail ...

Little Water Cantina - New Happy Hour Spot on Eastlake

by Kayla on July 20, 2011 0 Comments

New to the East Lake area, Little Water Cantina could easily have the best outside patio in Seattle. The views of Lake Union are beautiful and the delicious margaritas make you want to spend your entire evening relaxing outside. Although, Little Water Cantina is only open until 10 p.m. on week nights (due to the apartment building directly above the restaurant) you can’t beat the happy hour menu, only available Tuesday - Thursdays 4 - 6 p.m. Service was great and the Albacore Tuna Ceviche & Chorizo Empanadas were both delightful!

Brave Horse Tavern - New Tom Douglas Restaurant

Fresh Pretzels and Beergaritia – I think yes!

Cute bartenders, friendly staff and a dessert menu that make your taste buds melt! The freshly baked pretzel and Beergaritia (Margarita made with beer) definitely satisfied my craving for both salty and sweet. The Brave Horse Traven is a perfect mix of good traditional tavern food, great selection of beer and right in the perfect location, South Lake Union. It has modern wood and brick interior with a cozy atmosphere, much different then other Tom Douglas Restaurants. It was busy with steady flow of 20-somethings; it suits a younger crowd and was very popular for happy hour. Next time, I will be ordering the baked to order chocolate chip cookie – looked and smelt amazing!

Six Seven Restaurant & Lounge

by Kayla on July 1, 2011 0 Comments

A mix between Seattlelites and out of state visitors, Six Seven Restaurant and Lounge certainly had something to offer everyone. The outside patio views were breathtaking and by the far the best spot to watch the Thursday Night Sail Boat race. A happy hour enthusiast said, ‘Have you seen the bar? What a hidden gem!’

The bar offers a happy hour menu that features pineapple infusion martinis and a fresh Salumi Plate from Salumi Restaurant in Pioneer Square (a must-eat for sure!). We found an awesome table on the deck and the drinks kept following. Since they do not offer a late night happy hour menu we couldn’t resist the Lobster Mac ‘n Cheese. Haven’t visited on a weekend but it is definitely a place for pre-dinner cocktails and gorgeous views. Great service and loved the bartenders.

At Pearl, They’re Pushing the Cocktail Envelope

by Kayla on October 5, 2009 0 Comments

It's not the liquor behind the bar, it's how you use it. A mighty selection of base spirits and liquors can be found behind most bars nationwide to create cocktails your average bartender would know how to make. These bottles play host to new interpretations of the classics and define a bars signature; its persuasion to woo you through the door.

Pearl is a rare find in the sea of designer boutiques and chain restaurants the new Bellevue boasts. The ability for the staff at Pearl to radiate the business of hospitality in all senses of the word is refreshing, much needed and highly desirable. Do yourself a favor; read on, and then just go.

Roll up to Pearl in whatever ride you choose, and utilize the free valet parking at its opposite, the Westin Hotel. They'll call for your car when you're ready. Enter Pearl ...

The Alibi Room is a secret spot of Seattle

by Kayla on September 22, 2009 1 Comment

He said. She said. A witness. An alibi. There have been whispers on the street, murmurs in the crowd, voices from below and echoes in the alley that the bar that rests below Pike Place Market is hauntingly good. The Alibi Room is a secret spot of Seattle, below the busy buzz of the Market, within the walls of its enchanting history. Dlist spoke with manager Corey Ramey, patron Tita Von Fleece and bartender Brady Owen about the Alibi Room. Here's what we got out of them.

He Said: The location has been the Alibi Room for, I believe, 14 years and before that, Bugsy's Pizza. Part of the original ownership group of the Alibi Room included investors Tom Skerritt and Rick Stevenson, who wrote and produced the independent film "Expiration Date," which was mainly shot inside the Alibi Room. The Alibi Room has had a long relationship ...
