A Sparkling Summer Treat!

by Kayla on July 11, 2011 0 Comments

Who says Sparkling Wines are just for the Holidays!

Chandon Sparkling Rose was perfect on a sunny summer afternoon. Although, I am a fan of Washington wines, Chandon (made in Yountville, California) was surprisingly very palate pleasing. It was a bit dry and had a very refreshing and fruity taste. Fresh fruit notes of sweet strawberry and juicy watermelon. It paired flawlessly with steamed clams from Al Logo Restaurant. Definitely worth a try!

A Cab Sauv for Gentlemen -- Cougar Crest

by Kayla on October 5, 2009 0 Comments

Tasting notes: even though Cougar Crest is not my favorite. It's a cab sauv for gentlemen! Strong yet soft lightly toasted oak and honey as the foundation. Walnuts, fig and velvet are 2nd. Wine of the fertile crescent (eastern Washington's grape growing region). The wine keeps you warm and smiling. A think-less wine. Definitely for the upcoming holidays, cold winter nights, romantic getaways and with special friends. 2003 Estate Grown Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon!!! Wow!
